Pentane

Ekosystem’s solutions for pentane use

Montreal and Kyoto Protocols established the gradual phase-out of Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) that are considered extremely dangerous since they deplete the Earth’s protective ozone layer and contribute to climate change. The phase out has impacts on Polyurethane production as well since HCFCs are used as blowing agents, especially in the production of low density rigid foam sector.

Ekosystem contribute to environmental protection by producing and modifying machinery and plants suitable for alternative blowing agents like Pentane.

Since Pentane is a flammable and explosive blend, safety measures must be observed to guarantee a safe environment. Consequently, all the electrical devices must be supplied in compliance with ATEX directives in accordance with the safety regulations of the hazardous area.

SAFETY MEASURES – PREMIX UNIT – EKOSYSTEM BAMIX

  • Gas / liquid detectors managed by PLC to protect the plant in case of anomaly;
  • Pumps woth ATEX motor;
  • Metal parts to be grounded;
  • Gas suction;

All the electrical devices must be supplied in compliance with ATEX directives in accordance with the safety regulations of the hazardous area.

SAFETY MEASURES - POLYOL SIDE OF THE MACHINE

  • Pump complete with ATEX motor;
  • Ex-proof gas detectors;
  • Ex-proof liquid sensors;
  • Double ventilation;
  • Metal parts grounding;

All the electrical devices must be supplied in compliance with ATEX directives in accordance with the safety regulations of the hazardous area.

SAFETY MEASURES ON HIGH PRESSURE MACHINE FOR CONTINUOUS LINE

  • Gas detectors, liquind sensors and infrared sensors;
  • Control panel to manage Pentane;
  • Double ventilation;
  • Metal parts grounding.

All the electrical devices must be supplied in compliance with ATEX directives in accordance with the safety regulations of the hazardous area.

SAFETY MEASURES ON STORAGE TANK

  • Ex proof sunmersible or diaphragm pumps connected to ex proof motors;
  • Pressure gauges to keep Pentane pressure under control;
  • Safety valves to detect Pentane in case of leakage;
  • Duel pipeline;
  • Gas detectors;
  • Metal parts grounding.

All the electrical devices must be supplied in compliance with ATEX directives in accordance with the safety regulations of the hazardous area.
